Here is a look at the gear used by the reenactors of the 99th
Division, 393rd Regiment, Easy Co.
We’ll help you get the gear you need to get over time to join us.
You’ll find a list of suppliers at the end:
Standard/Required Uniform
- WW 2 or Korean War Helmet with correct liner and chin strap
- Jeep Cap
- M-1941 Field Jacket
- Wool Shirt, enlisted
- Wool Pants
- T-Shirt, colors can be Olive Drab or White
- HBT-1941 pants, HBT jacket
- Boots ( your choice )
- Russet Brown Field Service Shoes, Type 2 (early war)
- Roughout Field Service Shoes, Type 3 (mid war)
- M-1943 Double Buckle Service Shoes (mid war)
- Canvas Leggings ( not required if you have M-1943 shoes)
- M-1928 haversack
- Shovel, T-handle or Folding (your choice)
- Canteen with cover and cup
- 10 Pouch M-l Cartridge Belt
- Carlisle medical pouch with first aid kit
- WW 2 wool blanket
- Mess kit with fork, knife, spoon
- M-1 Garand 10-inch or 16-inch Bayonet with scabbard
- G.I. green socks (can be purchased at surplus store)
- M-1 Garand 30.06 with sling
It must be pointed out that some WW 1 field gear was used during World War
II. Some examples: canteens,
haversacks and 10-pouch cartridge belts. All
World War II-dated items are fine
for reenacting. Post World War II
items from 1946-50 are also good. In
late 1950 during the Korean War, most uniforms and field equipment changed in
both style and color. These cannot be used.
Optional field equipment or uniforms:
- M-1943 Field Jacket, Wool Overcoat, Mittens, Packboots
- O.D Poncho, Five-buckle rubber boots, wool sleeping bag,
M-1943 HBT cap
- Pup Tent, World war II button or modern snap type are O.K.
- Ammo Bags, Dress Uniform Wool Scarves or Toques
